Fluoride spill at water facility burns through parking lot cement |

The Vigilant Citizen

March 30th, 2011

To fully understand the destructive power of a substance, sometimes a strong visual is the best way to proceed. A spill of a highly abrasive chemical, Hydrofluorosilicic acid, at a water facility in Illinois literally burned through the concrete. Interesting fact: this chemical is directly added to drinking water as fluoride. Another interesting fact: adding fluoride to drinking water is totally and completely unnecessary.  Why is it there? To prevent “tooth decay” (it was however proven ineffective by numerous studies, mainly because the fluoride in water is ingested and not directly applied on teeth). What about brain decay? Fluoride actually accelerates it. Well, that’s what the dumbing-down of society is all about.

Japanese radiation reaches Alabama

Tuscaloosanews.com

By Dana Beyerle Montgomery Bureau Chief | Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at 3:30 a.m.

MONTGOMERY | Trace amounts of radiation from the ongoing Japanese nuclear plant crisis have shown up in Alabama, the Environmental Protection Agency said Monday.

Radioactive isotopes from the Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear plant, which was damaged during the March 11 earthquake and tsunami, have been detected in air filters at monitoring sites in Alabama and eight other states and Pacific islands.

“This is slightly above (normal) background … and far below health concerns,” EPA spokeswoman Davina Marraccini said in a telephone interview.

The EPA said that detailed filter analyses from 12 RadNet air monitor locations, including one in Montgomery, produced trace amounts of “radioactive isotopes consistent with the Japanese nuclear incident.”

The 12 monitoring sites are in Alabama, Alaska, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, Washington state, Guam, Saipan and the Northern Mariana Islands.

“Some of the filter results show levels slightly higher than those found by EPA monitors last week and a Department of Energy monitor the week before,” the EPA said.

Sixth study in recent months links mercury in flu shots to brain damage, autism

NaturalNews

by: Ethan A. Huff, staff writer | Monday, March 28, 2011

The toxic effects of the mercury, also known in vaccines as Thimerosal, have once again been confirmed, this time by researchers from the University of Brazil. Marking the sixth major study in recent months to condemn the use of mercury in medicine, the new study reveals that mercury causes serious brain damage, and is linked to autism and other developmental diseases in children and Alzheimer’s disease in adults.

Dr. Jose Dorea and his colleagues conducted an extensive, peer-reviewed analysis of various studies and available information in major databases that address the effects of low-dose Thimerosal, or ethylmercury, on neural tissue and behavior. They found conclusively that Thimerosal accumulates in brain tissue, negatively affects brain development, and harms brain cells.

‘Obamacare’ is a failed experiment

‘American people are going to overpay,’ says John Thune. | AP PhotoClose
By SEN. JOHN THUNE | 3/23/11 4:41 AM EDT

It has been one year since Obamacare was signed into law.

This is the same law about which then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said, “We have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it.” It is the same law that Pelosi and her Democratic colleagues jammed through Congress. The same unpopular law that led to Democrats losing control of the House.

After a year of learning what is in the law — and seeing its effect on families, small businesses and our economy — it is now clear that Obamacare is a failed experiment. Sadly, this failure was predictable and very expensive.

When Sen. Barack Obama was running for president, he repeatedly promised that he was going to reduce “every family’s premiums by as much as $2,500.” We were supposed to see these savings by the end of 2012.

Despite these promises, the amount individuals and families pay for health care and insurance continues to rise. Average premiums for individual plans, according to the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office, are predicted to increase by $2,100 per family over the next five years under the law.

Instead of receiving the $2,500 reduction promised, families will be paying more and more for their health insurance, thanks in no small part to the new government mandates.

Radiation detected in Massachusetts rainwater as Fukushima crisis worsens

Mike Adams
NaturalNews
March 28, 2011

The Fukushima crisis continues to worsen by the day, with nuclear experts around the world finally realizing and admitting we’ve all been lied to. “I think maybe the situation is much more serious than we were led to believe,” said Najmedin Meshkati of the University of Southern California, in a Reuters report (http://www.reuters.com/article/2011…). That same article revealed that recent radiation readings at Fukushima show “contamination 100,000 times normal in water at reactor No. 2 and 1,850 times normal in the nearby sea.”

Massachusetts rainwater has also been found to be contaminated with low levels of radiation from Fukushima, indicating just how widespread the radioactive fallout has become. It’s not just the West Coast of North America that’s vulnerable, in other words: even the East Coast could receive dangerous levels of fallout if Fukushima suffers a larger release of radioactive material into the air.

Healthcare Expert Capretta: Obamacare Is Sick Law

NewsMax | By Henry J. Reske and Ashley Martella | Monday, 28 Mar 2011 12:25 PM

President Barack Obama’s highly touted healthcare reform law offers bad medicine at higher costs for patients, healthcare expert James Capretta tells Newsmax.TV.

Obamacare will propel rationed services, limit Medicare coverage options for seniors, and create a huge new bureaucracy to run it, says Capretta, co-author of a new book, “Why Obamacare Is Wrong for America.”

In other words, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act signed into law a year ago March 23 doesn’t live up to its name, because it will do neither, Capretta said during the exclusive interview with Newsmax.TV.

(Video here)

“Rationing occurs when the government pays a very low rate for a service so low that the suppliers of the service no longer are willing to supply it so they leave the marketplace,” said Capretta, who was the top budget official for healthcare during the George W. Bush administration. “So, people then have fewer options to go see and get that service. That’s what’s happening under this law.

Top Ten Things Obama Never Told You About Obamacare

From Americans For Tax Reform on Wednesday, March 23, 2011 9:26 AM

1. Did you know that . . . since Jan. 1 of this year (2011), you cannot use your flex-account at work (FSA) or health savings account (HSA) to purchase over-the-counter medicines?

2. Did you know that . . . since July 1 of last year (2010), Americans have been paying a 10 percent excise tax on all indoor tanning services?

3. Did you know that . . . starting in 2018, if your health insurance is “too good” or considered a “Cadillac” plan, then you will incur a new 40 percent tax on your health plan?

4. Did you know that . . . Obamacare has 21 new or higher taxes in it, totaling over $500 billion in increased taxes going to the government over 10 years?

5. Did you know that . . . beginning in 2014, individuals and families that do not purchase “qualifying”  — as defined by federal bureaucrats — health insurance will be forced to pay a yearly tax penalty?

6. Did you know that . . . 7 tax hikes in Obamacare directly break President Obama’s “firm pledge” not to raise any form of taxes on individuals making less than $200,000 per year and families making less than $250,000 per year?

7. Did you know that . . . the capital gains tax rate under Obamacare will rise to 23.8 percent starting in 2012? That is a 59 percent increase from its current rate.

8. Did you know that . . . in 2013, those Americans facing the highest medical bills and the least ability to pay for them will find their ability to deduct medical expenses is further limited (medical expenses must be reduced by 10 percent of income under Obamacare, rather than current law’s 7.5 percent)

9. Did you know that . . . beginning in 2014, businesses with over 50 employees will be forced to offer health coverage for everyone, or pay a hefty tax for each employee?

10. Did you know that . . . in 2013, Obamacare caps the amount individuals and families can put in their flexible savings accounts at $2500? Currently there is no cap and these accounts are used for a myriad of health expenses including paying upwards of $14,000 in tuition to special needs schools for some parents?

Radioactive Xenon 133 from stricken Fukushima nuclear plant will cover most of the planet

Paul Joseph Watson
Prison Planet.com
Tuesday, March 22, 2011

Contradicting Barack Obama’s assertion last week that radiation from Japan’s stricken Fukushima nuclear plant would not even reach Hawaii, the mainland United States has been blanketed with radioactive Xenon 133 particles, while spent nuclear fuel pools at Fukushima have now reached boiling point and threaten to spew out more radioactive smoke.

Although health authorities insist that levels of the radionuclide Xenon 133 that have been measured are harmless, claims that such radiation would dissolve over the Pacific have been proven completely inaccurate. Indeed, the latest charts show that fallout from Fukushima will not just smother the United States, but most of the globe.

The chart below from the Central Institute for Meteorology and Geodynamics (ZAMG) shows the spread of Xenon 133 emitted from the Fukushima plant

Japanese radiation reaches US

RT.com/USA

Published: 18 March, 2011, 19:19
Edited: 19 March, 2011, 01:46

The first detection of radiation from Japan has been recorded along the West Coast of the United States, but the UN insists the levels of radiation are far below dangerous levels.

The UN’s Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty Organization initially issued a statement alleging a radioactive plume could hit California by March 18 – they were right.

American health and nuclear officials, and US President Barack Obama himself have repeatedly said there is no real threat of radiation from Japan and any detected radiation would be in the safe zone.

However, many are still worried.

US suppliers of Geiger counters, gas masks, anti-radiation tablets and pet shelters are selling out of their supplies, many having to place back orders.

Obama has called for calm across the nation, asking the American people to trust the government. His words have had little impact as the people openly knock the information coming from the US and Japanese governments, and even the UN.

Helen Caldicott, the author of “Nuclear Power is not the Answer” explained disasters like this could cause nuclear catastrophe and are exactly why nuclear power is not a viable option for solving the planet’s energy woes.

She explained accidents are too risky and the IAEA and the World Health Organization are covering up just how devastating it could be.

The UN has been lying,” she claimed. “There is an unholy alliance and agreement between the International Atomic Energy Agency and the World Health Organization going back decades.

TN Gov. Bill Haslam signs ‘health freedom’ act

Nashville Business Journal

Brian Reisinger, Staff Writer | Friday, March 18, 2011, 3:06pm CDT

Gov. Bill Haslam has signed into law a bill that proponents say would allow Tennessee residents a choice when it comes to federal health care reform.

The “Tennessee Health Care Freedom Act” passed the General Assembly recently, and the Republican governor signed it today, according to legislative records.

Advocates and Republicans who pushed the law say it allows residents to avoid the requirement that they buy health insurance. Parties in various court cases have been battling whether the “individual mandate” is constitutional, but Democrats say it’s necessary to bring down costs, and have created assistance for those who can’t afford insurance.

Tennessee Attorney General Bob Cooper, a Democrat, opined last year that an earlier version of the law would be pre-empted by federal law.

Corrupt FDA to monitor food imported to US

By DAILY MAIL REPORTER
Last updated at 8:06 PM on 19th March 2011

  • FDA working with U.S. customs, which can scan full shipping containers for radiation
  • Environmental Protection Agency ups radiation monitors on U.S. West Coast
  • Minuscule amounts of radiation detected in Southern California
  • Doses of natural radiation 100,000 times the dose rates detected
  • California traders reporting brisk trade in gas masks and protective gear
  • Heightened radiation screening on flights from Japan trigger several low-level alerts

The Food and Drug Administration will monitor foods imported to the U.S. from Japan for radiation exposure, following the earthquake, tsunami and nuclear disaster.

The most common imports from the devastated country are seafood, snack foods and processed fruits and vegetables.

FDA officials said they are now collecting information on where these products are grown, harvested or manufactured in Japan so they can ensure anything that is imported is not tainted with radiation.

Mainstream media halts accurate reporting on Japan’s worsening nuclear catastrophe; disinfo campaign now underway

Mike Adams
Natural News
March 19, 2011

(NaturalNews) Almost as if on cue, the mainstream media today halted nearly all accurate reporting of the worsening situation in Japan, writing off the whole thing as a “non issue.” This all happened in a seeming coordinate effort following President Obama’s speech on Wednesday that urged Americans to NOT prepare for anything. The American people, Obama insisted, should simply watch television to “stay informed.” Shortly after, mainstream television news returned to its regularly-scheduled sports and entertainment programming, barely touching on the reality of the worsening situation at the Fukushima nuclear power plant in Japan.

Nuclear experts that were on mainstream news channels two days are now nowhere to be found today. Scary (but accurate) news stories about Fukushima have now been all but completely banned from the MSM. The word from the top is clearly that media outlets should start downplaying this nuclear accident, which even now ranks as the second worst nuclear accident in the history of human civilization (right after Chernobyl).

The Asian media, for its part, simply started fabricating completely fictitious news. The press in China and Taiwan, for example, reported last night that grid power had been restored to the Fukushima reactor #2 and that the entire disaster had now been completely averted. This was a total fabrication: The truth is that power plant workers were pulled out of the area before they could even connect grid power, due to rising levels of extremely dangerous radiation near the plant.

Even if grid power were restored to reactor #2, that would not help reactors #3 and #4, where the really dangerous plutonium MOX fuel is stored. It’s 2,000,000 times more toxic than enriched uranium.

Reports Of “Harmless” Radiation Reaching California Are a Whitewash

Paul Joseph Watson
Prison Planet.com
Friday, March 18, 2011

>>>Nuclear plant chief weeps as Japanese finally admit that radiation leak is serious enough to kill people

Exactly as we predicted would happen, authorities have cited “miniscule” levels of radiation reaching California as an excuse with which to downplay the threat to Americans of fallout crossing the Pacific from Japan, completely ignoring the fact that the bulk of the radiation from the two blasts at the Fukushima power plant will not reach the west coast until Monday.

“Radioactive fallout from Japan’s crippled nuclear plant has reached Southern California but the first readings are far below levels that could pose a health hazard, a diplomat said Friday.”

“Initial readings are “about a billion times beneath levels that would be health threatening,” the diplomat told The Associated Press, speaking on condition of anonymity because the CTBTO does not make its findings public.”

The diplomat called the level of radioactivity “irrelevant,” while another unnamed source told Reuters that the level was “very low.”

How to Protect Yourself from Radiation

Washington’s Blog

RELATED: 8 Foods Rich In Iodine

Preface: This is written for the millions of people around the world who are worried about radiation from the Japanese nuclear reactors. For those who are not worried about radiation from Japan, you can ignore this post, or save it for any future radiation scares closer to home.

How do we protect ourselves against radiation?

It is true that potassium iodide protects against high doses of a certain type of radiation. As the New York Times notes:

Fortunately, an easy form of protection is potassium iodide, a simple compound typically added to table salt to prevent goiter and a form of mental retardation caused by a dietary lack of iodine.

If ingested promptly after a nuclear accident, potassium iodide, in concentrated form, can help reduce the dose of radiation to the thyroid and thus the risk of cancer. In the United States, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission recommends that people living within a 10-mile emergency planning zone around a nuclear plant have access to potassium iodide tablets.

Indeed, virtually all suppliers of potassium iodide have sold out, especially after , the U.S. Surgeon General recommended that West Coast residents stock up.

But as I noted yesterday:

Swedish Government: Radiation To Cover Entire Northern Hemisphere

Swedes were first in world to detect radiation from Chernobyl disaster

Swedish Government: Radiation To Cover Entire Northern Hemisphere 170311top2

Paul Joseph Watson
Prison Planet.com
Thursday, March 17, 2011

Suggesting that levels of radiation leaks from the stricken Fukushima plant are being grossly underreported by Japanese authorities, a Swedish government agency told Reuters today that not only will the radiation reach North America, but it will subsequently cover the entire northern hemisphere.

“Lars-Erik De Geer, research director at the Swedish Defense Research Institute, a government agency, was citing data from a network of international monitoring stations established to detect signs of any nuclear weapons tests,” reports Reuters.

“Stressing that the levels were not dangerous for people, he predicted the particles would continue across the Atlantic and eventually also reach Europe.”

De Geer said he was “convinced it would eventually be detected over the whole northern hemisphere,” according to the report, adding that radioactive particles would “eventually also come here,” referring to Europe

Ann Coulter: ‘Radiation is good for you’

Aliyah Shahid
NYDailyNews.com
March 18, 2011

Right-wing blowhard Ann Coulter took her incendiary views to a whole new level Thursday, this time finding the silver lining in Japan’s nuclear disaster.

During a segment on Bill O’Reilly’s Fox News show, the conservative firebrand tried to calm jittery viewers by telling them “radiation is good for you.”

Coulter went on to say that a growing body of evidence shows exposure to radiation above levels the government deems harmful actually reduces cancer.

8 Foods Rich in Iodine

RELATED: How To Protect Yourself From Radiation

1. Sea vegetables

The ocean hosts the largest storehouse for iodine foods, including Kelp, Arame, Hiziki, Kombu, and Wakame. Kelp has the highest amount of iodine on the planet and one serving offers 4 times more than a daily minimum requirement. 1 tablespoon of Kelp contains about 2000/mcg of iodine, 1 tablespoon of Arame contains about 730/mcg of iodine, 1 tablespoon of Hiziki contains about 780/mcg of iodine, 1 one inch piece of Kombu contains about 1450/mcg of iodine, 1 tablespoon of Wakame contains about 80/mcg of iodine. I recommend sprinkling them in soups or on salads.

2. Cranberries

This antioxidant-rich fruit is another great source of iodine. About 4 ounces of cranberries contain approximately 400/mcg of iodine. I would recommend buying fresh organic berries or juice. If you buy cranberry juice from the store, be cautious of how much sugar is in it.

3. Organic Yogurt

A natural probiotic, yogurt is an excellent iodine food you should add to your diet. One serving holds more than half of your daily needs. 1 cup contains approximately 90/mcg of iodine. Other than yogurt, here is a list of probiotic foods you should think about incorporating into your diet for added health benefits.

4. Organic Navy Beans

Many beans are a great food source of iodine, but navy beans may top the list. Just 1/2 cup of these beans contain about 32/mcg of iodine. Beans aren’t just an iodine food, they are also incredibly high in fiber.

Americans panic over nuclear fallout fears

RT.com

17 March, 2011, 00:52

The non-stop coverage of the problems at Japan’s Fukushima nuclear plant is causing panic in some parts of America, despite assurances that the nation faces no danger from a radiation cloud.

The concerns over a nuclear crisis in Japan are being shared on America’s west coast. In California, people are taking extra precautions by rushing out to buy potassium iodine pills, which are meant to protect against radiation exposure. One of those people is Aaron Gonzales who went to a health food store to buy his pills.

When I heard the news, I came to buy them so that I could distribute them to my friends and family,” Gonzalez said.

US government officials have repeatedly told us that the public is safe and that the pills are not necessary, but the US Surgeon General, Regina Benjamin, on a recent trip to California said that she thought buying iodine pills was not an overreaction to an emergency situation.

It’s definitely appropriate. If we’ve learned anything from Katrina, you need to be prepared as you can.”
